Trillium Leadership
What is your role and primary responsibility within the organization?
I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist and a Co - Chief Medical Officer at Trillium Family Services.
What is a passion or hobby outside of work that brings you joy?
Spending time with my kids and family of origin, snowboarding, surfing, biking, listening to live music, reading, listening to the Moth Radio Hour and other cool story-oriented programs/podcasts, watching creative and engaging series and films, and playing music with friends all bring me joy.
What motivated you to pursue a career in mental health?
Experiencing my own psychological existential journey to find meaning in my 20’s along with working with kids and adults experiencing serious mental health challenges while I was in medical school in Chicago similarly challenged me to open myself up to seek training and lifelong learning to be present with and helpful to those in such striking internal crises. Confronting the difficult reality of early onset childhood schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and early developmental trauma specifically drew me to working with youth at the state hospital level of care at Trillium now 20 years ago in September 2003.
