Trillium’s Care Team
Coping and Self-Care Groups
We recognize that the challenging nature of our work impacts us all differently. To support our staff’s well-being, we are proud to launch Trillium’s Care Team. This new staff resource offers confidential and voluntary support through two distinct groups: The Coping Group and The Self-Care Coping Group.
An all-staff communication on July 1st introduced the Care Team and these two groups. Here’s a refresher:

Coping Groups
These groups provide a safe space for staff involved in events or incidents where safety is compromised. It allows staff to connect and talk about how we are processing what happened. It’s a space to acknowledge the impact of working in crisis situations on both personal and professional levels.
Self-Care Groups
Unlike the Coping groups, these groups are not tied to specific incidents. Instead, Self-Care Coping Groups offer extended support to help staff recognize their own patterns when it comes to stress management.
How & When to Request a Group
Coping Groups & Self-Care Care Groups
Any staff member can ask for a group by completing a Care Team Request Form on the intranet.
A supervisor can make a suggestion to the Care Team administrator to reach out and offer a coping group for staff who have experienced a significant event.
Self-Care Groups (Only)
Groups will be scheduled quarterly and open to any staff. Any staff member is invited to register. Groups may also be requested outside of the quarterly schedule as needed.
Groups may be in-person or held via Zoom.

Tell me more about the intranet form…
Who receives it? What happens next?
Fill it out. There is a form on the intranet where staff fill in basic information, i.e., what kind of group they are requesting (coping group or self-care coping group), the region/program within which they are located, and, for coping groups, a brief overview the event.
Received by Care Team Administrator. The Intranet form will go directly to Casey Lowrey, who serves as the administrator for Trillium’s Care Team.
Reach Out. Once received, the administrator will reach out to the individual who made the request and their supervisor to coordinate the meeting.
Schedule Group. Next, the administrator will sound the call to Care Team members in the region and schedule two individuals to facilitate the group.

What's Next?
As we speak, the champions of this project are refining processes for requesting and facilitating the groups.
