Each May, Trillium Family Services celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month by recognizing Mental Health Heroes nominated for their impact on mental health and wellness in Oregon as well as by holding our Heroes Gala. The Gala is Trillium’s largest fundraising effort each year, with proceeds supporting the direct mental and emotional health care of 32,000 children and families across Oregon.
For this year’s Heroes Gala, we once again gathered virtually to honor eight Mental Health Heroes who introduced each other to our community and shared each other’s stories. We also recognized one of our earliest heroes, Jim Williams, a board leader who helped shape our organization at its beginning. His family has made incredible contributions to our efforts in Jim’s memory and their stories helped us remember and appreciate Jim for everything he did for children and families in Oregon. As importantly, we took the opportunity to recognize the heroic work and commitment of our amazing staff at Trillium in a tribute that we hope everyone gets a chance to view.
Thanks to the generous contributors from our major sponsors, Regence, The Standard and CareOregon, as well as the Williams Family and many others, the Heroes Gala was very successful. We succeeded in raising over $430,000 and hope to reach our overall goal of $500,000 by the end of June. If you are interested in contributing to help us achieve our year-end goal, visit trilliumfamily.org or contact Dr. Beavers at rbeavers@trilliumfamily.org.
