Lieutenant Commander Robert Paynter has served in the United States Navy for over 22 years.  He enlisted in 1989 as a Seaman Recruit and served overseas in the Persian Gulf War, providing air control support to U.S. and allied aircraft participating in Operation Desert Storm.  Commissioned an officer in 2002, he has served in many locations throughout the world, most notably, Deputy Director of Navy Reserve Force mobilizations, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan.  Most recently, he is the Commanding Officer of Navy Operational Support Center, Springfield, Oregon, responsible for providing Navy Reserve Sailors to support U.S. military and humanitarian operations throughout the world.
