Job Summary:  Responsible for housekeeping, janitorial and sanitation services within the various buildings of the facility as assigned when needed and instructed by supervisor.


Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:  
Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Housekeeping Department.
Performs routine cleaning of client rooms, client care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
Washes windows, walls, floors, beds, furniture upon client discharge, as staff alerts.
Reports any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to Services Director and completes Maintenance request.
Performs routine basic maintenance with direction of the facilities manager as needed.
Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
Uses and maintains equipment properly.
Maintains client confidentiality.
Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
Replenishes supplies as needed.
Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
Observes safety and security precautions at all times.
Stock paper (both housekeeping and food service items) and cleaning supplies in appropriate amounts, notifying supervisor of items needing to be reordered;
Assist in restocking foods needed in Residential Units;
Interacts positively with clients, staff, and guests.
Assist with receipt and storage of deliveries of food and supplies;
Complete all training required for the position

Demonstrated ability to set appropriate priorities and work within reasonable timelines with a minimum of supervision;
Demonstrated ability to keep work areas and materials in a safe and orderly manner, restoring and securing equipment, tools and supplies immediately after use;
Demonstrated ability to keep all chemicals properly labeled, stored in the appropriate container and kept in a locked storage room/closet;
Demonstrated ability to keep residential refrigerators clean and organized.
Demonstrated acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors and cultures;
Demonstrated ability to establish clear and appropriate boundaries in relationships with staff and clients and the handling of confidential and sensitive information
Completes annual education requirements.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly.
Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
Communicates the mission, guiding principles and supporting intrinsic values of TFS, as well as the focus of the department.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Food Handler’s Card

Experience: Experience in janitorial/housekeeping/custodial work using required cleaning and sanitizing techniques, products and equipment.

Job Knowledge: To establish a routine with some opportunity to contribute to the development of new procedures and use own judgment. Most work is routine with an occasional new task, mainly works alone, but may work in teams. Must respond to emergency needs in an appropriate manner.

Skills: Must be able to read, interpret and follow verbal and written directions and have the ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written skills. Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
