Customer Service Associate

Location: Corvallis - Children's Farm Home
Program/Department: Historic Old School
Schedule: Varies; On-Call

Job Summary:  The On Call Customer Service Associate reports to the Donor & Community Relations Manager. This position is responsible for carrying out basic tasks at the Historic Old School during café hours and special events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:  
Completes basic point of sale transactions for the café, gift shop, and conference services  
Assists with preparatory set up and tear down of event spaces  
Answers and returns front desk phone professionally, and engages customers arriving at the front desk with excellent customer service  
Attends to customers with friendliness and attentiveness  
Enters new inventory into point of sale system and create entries for new items  
Assures documentation remains orderly and front desk area is tidy at all times  
Assists as a greeter or event server during busy café hours or during events  
Assists with creating gift shop displays as directed by Community Engagement Manager  
Maintains positive working relationships within the department and other areas of the organization  
Assists in keeping items used at the Old School (i.e. linens, tables, chairs, serving ware, etc.) organized and stored safely  
Completes other duties as necessary to ensure the overall success of the Old School

Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Maintain a driving record acceptable by the agency and a current driver’s license for state of residence, when authorized to use own vehicle for agency business, employee must maintain personal insurance. Possess Oregon Food Handlers Card.

Experience: Three to six months experience in retail support, hospitality services, or customer services.

Job Knowledge:  Within accepted standards, laws and guidelines, TFS and department policy and procedure, and this position description, determines own practices and techniques.  Contributes input to program and new concept development.  Work is routinely performed within the task areas defined above, is complex and may be interrupted frequently.  Work is reviewed routinely by the Donor & Community Relations Manager.

Skills: Communication, hospitality, sales, retail, event coordination, organizational and computer skills.
