Child & Family Therapist – Day Treatment

Location: Corvallis - Children's Farm Home
Program/Department: North Point Day Treatment
Schedule: 40 Hours/Week - Monday thru Friday 8:30am-4:30pmpm

Job Summary: The Child and Family Therapist in the Day Treatment Program are responsible for individual, family and group therapy, assessment and development of client treatment plans and case management of the assigned clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:  
Provide risk and safety assessment for immediate access to crisis resources
Build alliances with family and community resources, to educate and support families to advocate for themselves
Provide individualized in-home services as indicated, based on client need
Identify systems issues obstructing needs of families, fostering creative problem-solving strategies
Facilitate multi-disciplinary treatment planning meetings
Develop and conduct intake Mental Health assessments, participating in home visits and/or school observations for assessment purposes as needed
Develop and implement treatment plans with emphasis on family systems, coordinating treatment with: Psychiatrist, DHS, families, foster families, Mental Health Division workers, school personnel, etc., maintaining regular contact with these providers
Attend school meetings, court hearings, other meetings within the community on behalf of the client
Maintain clinical records in compliance with regulating bodies
Facilitate partnership with Family Support Staff
Work in partnership with supervisor to problem-solve reimbursement, contract issues and control expenditures
Maintain productivity expectations
Provide clinical crisis on-call responsibility as needed, assessing risk for harm, relapse
Transport children as needed as part of case management
Acts as the Clinical Responder for crisis situations that occur on the assigned campus, completing documentation as required in a timely manner
Complete all training required for the position

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other field which qualifies the candidate to be a licensed professional counselor/clinical social worker/ psychologist or marriage & family therapist in the State of Oregon. Masters-level, Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP); must be familiar with family systems; licensure preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Eligible for certification in the State of Oregon as a licensed professional counselor/ clinical social worker/ psychologist or marriage & family therapist.  Once hired, the new Child & Family Therapist must agree to begin the certification process to become certified as a licensed social worker/counselor within 3 months from the date of hire to be completed within 24 months.

Experience: Two years experience in an outpatient mental health treatment facility, or hospital, residential or day treatment settings providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.

Job Knowledge: Within accepted therapeutic standards and guidelines and Trillium Family Services policy, procedure, determines own therapeutic practices and techniques, consulting as necessary with the Clinical Manager who provides clinical supervision to CFT’s. Contributes input to program and new concept development.  Work is routinely performed within the task areas defined above, is complex and involves assessment and therapeutic decisions, which directly impact the progress and emotional well-being of clients. Community Services Director, Clinical Manager and Medical Director routinely review case notes and the treatment plan recommendations.  Therapeutic interactions with clients in family, group or individual sessions are monitored and reviewed by the Clinical Supervisor
