The #KeepOregonWell Street Team travels to concerts, festivals, fairs, and other community events around Oregon to advocate that #MentalHealthMatters. The core of what we do is help to start the conversation about Mental Health awareness in our communities and build a network of allies that have pledged to #FightStigma.
The Street Team is made up of energetic, passionate, and inspirational volunteers! Anyone 16 or older is welcome to volunteer without a legal guardian present. Folks interested in volunteering who are under 16 are welcome to volunteer with supervision from a legal guardian and at select events. All volunteers are trained and supported by Keep Oregon Well staff at each event. Everyone who volunteers is given a free Keep Oregon Well T-shirt. Street Team members receive semi-monthly emails describing upcoming volunteer opportunities.
One of our most frequent events is our ongoing Keep Oregon Well Concert Series at the Kink.fm Skype Live Studio, where our Street Team talks to audience members before the event, asking them to take the Keep Oregon Well Pledge. Once the concert begins our Street Team gets to enjoy the show and often gets to take part in a meet and greet with the bands and artists. Click here to see past events the Street Team has attended.
Our volunteer positions vary depending on the event, but below you will find the various Street Team duties:
Pledges: Ask people to sign the Keep Oregon Well Pledge and win prizes by spinning our Prize Wheel.
Sales: Processing sales of Keep Oregon Well merchandise. This position is given first to those requesting limited mobility/standing.
